5 Keys to Success for 2017 SJSU Football: #3 A win streak

By Ernie Gonzalez (@superego1012):

By the time the Spartans take the field for their home opener this coming season, it would be 1,044 days since winning back-to-back games.

Come’on Spartans, a win streak won’t hurt.

Taking a look at the 2017 season, there is one particular area of the schedule that jumps off the page as possible back-to-back victories for this Spartan core.

Flat out, SJSU has what it takes to top the Utah State Aggies, especially on their home turf.

The harder ones though, are on the road and getting the W out in Vegas can ignite this team, fueling them as they approach the annual Fresno State contest on October 7.

By that time, don’t be caught off guard if the Valley Trophy stays in San Jose, as the mid-season-marinated Spartans might be sizzling by then.

On a roll or not, the Spartans will head to Honolulu on week 7 and face Dru Brown and the Rainbow Warriors.

Playing pretend, and hoping that SJSU is in midseason form, the Spartans can have a chance to win four straight games, a feat they have not accomplished since former head coach Ron Caragher’s first year back in 2013.

Well, it’s now Brent Brennan’s ‘first year’ turn.

I don’t know if a four game roar middle-late season can put the Spartans atop the Mountain West conference,it will undeniably can catalyze the first steps to climbing the mountain, setting themselves up for the November and hopefully December football.
