SJSU safety Chad Miller recovering well after stabbing incident

By Kavin Mistry:

San Jose University football player Chad Miller was stabbed in a fight in downtown San Jose last night.

According to a statement by the university, “He is hospitalized and is expected to recover … Our thoughts and prayers are with Chad and his family for his prompt recovery.”

Miller had surgery and is currently recovering in the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

Chad’s father Brad Miller said “right now we’re just concerned with him being alive,” in an interview with ABC7.

He continued to say Miller was just enjoying a night out with his friends when the fight broke out.

The incident occurred on Post Street in downtown San Jose, between south First Street and Lightson Alley.

Brad Miller also told ABC7 that Miller was not initially involved in the fight but somehow was stabbed.

San Jose police has surveillance video of the incident but has yet to announce any arrests.

Miller is currently a junior at SJSU and a safety on the football team.
